This would be a really close election i think. Two conservative democrats vs a strong conservative and a liberal.

More like two strong Democrats versus two weak Republicans both carrying a lot of baggage.  I reeeally don't like Frist, so I'd go with Bayh.

Tough choice.  I have issues with all four of them.  Based on name-sake and celebrity status (one of the key items which voters are drawn to . . . since they're ill-informed), Frist/Guiliani would win.  Both names are well recognized, and Rudy has an artificial 'hero' reputation due to 9/11.  Those of us in tune with politics would recognize Bayh as a serious contender, but Landrieu would be an unknown to most.

I like all four of them, but I would choose Bayh/Landrieu.  Frist is a great Senator, but a BORING speaker.  I've watched him on C-SPAN 2 live coverage on the Senate and I have to hold my eyes open with a toothpick to listen to him.  He would let Iowa take a nap when he talks.

I'd vote for Frist....but he's boring and uncharismatic...

Well, so is Bayh, I hear, but at least he looks good.

Cat lovers of the world unite and vote for Bayh, thus handing him the election.

What about the state map.

Could Guiliani help carry Frist New York as the dems are pretty moderate/conservative. Could new jersey be in play?

Indiana would go Bayhs way.
Missouri, Ohio, Iowa and Wisconsin would go Bayhs way.

I think bayh/landrieu would make frist/guiliani campiagn in the red states MO,IA,NM,NV,CO,IN,OH and FL.

Hence bayh/landrieu would win the election.

I vote Bayh and he wins rather easily.  In short, Frist is doomed w/ this whole nuclear option mess (not to mention all the baggage that goes along with being SML) and Giuliani has more skeletons than you can imagine.

The judges are irrelevant, Frist is weak for other reasons. No one in their right mind would pick Landrieu for VP though.

Ugh, Frist would be a disaster as the Republican nominee.  I will do anything within my power to make sure that doesn't happen.  If Bayh is the nominee he would kill Frist.  I'd be very surprised if he picks another Senator or a fellow moderate if nominated.  Although he is a former governor, two Senator tickets usually underperform.

As long as Bayh makes the race at least somewhat about him - which would not be hard with an opposition as boring as Frist - he would win most match-ups rather solidly.

Bayh might be a lot of things, but I don't think he'd sink to that level. Tongue
