They ARE paranoid about Hillary. It's pretty funny. I hope they keep doing it.

For whatever reason, they think she's a lock in 2008.

Paranoid?  I think the Right WANTS her to run.  If they could put up a marginally decent candidate (still unclear if there is one in the making) to challenge her, she would lose easily.  While she might pick up some votes with the female population, there are plenty in the Democratic camp that would rather vote third-party than for her.  The Republicans, on the other hand, would probably not lose any votes from their camp to her (except a few women votes).

My only concern about this next election will be "how many voters will come out?"  This past election was very heated, and drew many new and non-voters out to the polls.  This next one is shaping up to be rather lame at the moment, and I fear that not even 90% of the voters who turned out last year will show up this time.

Do you (the Democrats on this forum) truly believe that Hillary getting the Democratic nomination is as ridiculous as, say, McCain or Guiliani getting the Republican?

Aside from a speech by Newt Gingrich, I'm yet to see any real evidence that the Republicans are 'paranoid' about Hillary Clinton.

The Right wants her to run because she'd be the next Dukakis(though He'd have made a pretty good president, i think).

I don't know about all republicans, but the talking heads on Fox News are obsessed with her.

Perhaps so.  I tend to avoid Fox like the plague, so I couldn't tell you.

hehehe . . . I only watch their financial programming on the weekends.  Tend to be less politics and more policy-based discussions.  It's pretty good (better than CNN's).

I've seen some who really are very concerned about her, thinking that few candidates can beat her. I'm not sure why.

No, she's a skillful politician who could win against a mediocre Republican candidate that I won't name (subliminal message: Frist).  Therefore, it's not paranoia.

Fox is the most conservative of the three channels (MSNBC, FOX, CNN).  I watch CNN most of the time, but I do like Fox, especially Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.  I like to hear both or all sides of any issue.  I watch CNN, because they are more politically oriented and I LOVE politics.

Hillary hits a certain nerve with Republicans.  I don't know if I'd call it paranoia, but there's a certain visceral reaction to her that only a few other Democrats elicit.

I think she has a good shot at the nomination, and could win against a weak Republican.  The Democrats will have a natural advantage anyway in 2008 due to eight continuous years of Republican rule.

I don't think it's paranoia.  Republicans, especially conservative ones and even a lot of moderates, dislike her intensely and don't want to see her as president.  That's normal politics.

I thought you meant by this thread titled "Hillary and the Right" as if Mrs. Clinton was moving to the right. In that respect she is.
