Pretty big upset in the works in Illinois with a non-sports school (U of Chicago) leading the Fighting Illini by 1 vote. Meanwhile in FL, the tie is now 3 ways with the Gators joining the Canes and Seminoles with several just one vote behind. I'll keep y'all updated on how those play out.

Now I present the northern half of the California schools. No shortage of state schools that go by many names here but I tried to indicate the name their sports teams go by when there was a conflict.

I actually like a pretty good number of these schools. Just not SF really. 50's basketball, huh. Beating La Salle was unacceptable.

[1] University of Pacific (basketball)
[2] Cal Poly (football)
[3] Stanford - if I had to attend one. Obviously a nice place for statistics. Formerly my least favorite Pac-12, but I have evolved
--
[4] UC-Berkeley - highly doubt I'd be able to survive there though
[5] St. Mary's (Beat Zaga!)
[6] Santa Clara
--
[7] CSU-Bakersfield
[8] UC-Santa Cruz - D3 sports? They've gotta move up. D1 doesn't have enough Banana Slug mascots
[9] San Jose State
[10] Fresno State
[11] Sacramento State
[12] UC-Davis
--
[13] San Francisco

I don't like Berkeley and Stanford purely for Pac 12 sports reasons. Santa Cruz might just be a little too "Santa Cruz" for me.

I'm going with Cal Poly SLO because I know a lot of people there and it is an absolutely beautiful place.

For what it's worth, San Luis Obispo really isn't Northern California by any definition I've ever encountered.

Very true. Bakersfield was also a stretch. Socal just has a ridiculous amount though so I had to even it out. This is almost anything north of LA.

Cal just because of how ridiculous Stanford is at admissions and their preppyness.

Good school but WAY too arrogant.

Stanford was my dream university, with Berkeley a close second. Wink
