When I was in Largo, Florida a couple years ago, I happened to see an ancient Lincoln Towncar that had from left-to-right across its bumper:

Ford/Dole
Reagan/Bush '80/'84
Bush/Quayle '88/'92
Dole/Kemp
Bush/Cheney '00/'04
McCain/Palin
Romney/Ryan

There are no stickers / yard signs for any candidates in Austria.

Only for parties. And those are all taken down in the 2 weeks after an election.

You can only find old election posters somewhere on the Internet ...

Is that by law or just a custom?

The American tradition of political yard-signs is something that simply does not exist in Austrian (political) culture.

If you'd put a yard sign of Werner Faymann (LOL) in your garden, you'd immediately become the neighbourhood's laughingstock.

I mean WTF ? A yard-sign of WERNER FAYMANN ?

There's someone in my apartment complex that has an 'England out of Ireland' bumper sticker. No idea how old that is.

I have some from local races in the mid 90s. They show up outside to be used for yard sales, etc.

This wasn't in my area, but I do remember seeing a Nixon/Agnew bumper sticker in California, near the Stanford campus.
