My parents were strong Democrats, and we made it a point to watch the nightly news every night, even when I was very young.  I was brought up knowning what was happening in the world.

7. How did you discover this forum?
Googling for election maps.

8. What do you like most about it?
The friendly atmosphere, and fun, challenging discussions.

9. What are your other interests, apart from politics?
Astronomy, computers, history, philosophy, theology, horses, the Great Outdoors.

10. What's your favourite movie?
No one favorite; I like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Empire Strikes Back, Tron, Blues Brothers, Time Bandits, Star Trek 2, 4, and 6, Office Space, Matrix, LOTR trilogy...

11. What's your favourite song?
Pop: "Yesterday," by the Beatles.  Puccini's "Nessum Dorma" (I consider Opera to be "Pop")
Classical: "Dies Irae" from Mozart's Requiem, or maybe the first movement of Dvorak's New World Symphony.

I am a cat person.
