Also, how is it possible for Cynthia Coffman to be elected State Attorney General and only have a 25% name recognition ?

Because only old white men voted in 2014. Tongue

This is undoubtedly a junk poll.

It says that only 18 percent of adults, including (lol) 39 percent of 18-25 year olds have used marijuana since it was legalized. A Denver Post poll put out just one year after legalization said that the number is closer to 22 percent, and it's very likely that has grown as the industry has expanded and young people have boosted the city's population. This inherently makes for a more conservative electorate than it will likely be in actuality.

Quinnipiac's problem in Colorado, during Presidential years especially, is that they underestimate youth turnout, which is facilitated by laws that make it much easier to vote than in other states and organizations like New Era Colorado, who register and turnout young people very efficiently when they have appropriate resources. They were very off in 2012, and they are likely to be off here too.

This poll leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Bennet's favorability is unnaturally high in this poll too, while both Coffmans are considered unknowns. If you look at approval ratings, you'll also see that Bennet has a higher net approval than Cory Gardner.

The takeaway I would take from this is that both Coffmans are unknowns, right now, much as Cory Gardner was in 2014. But, the hill is a tall climb for them. They are both less likable than Cory is, certainly, and will have to deal with increased voter turnout and a candidate who may be less likable than Mark Udall, but is probably more competent. There's a reason pundits are keeping this Leans D. Bennet has the edge, unfortunately.
