WELCOME, COMRADES!

Welcome, Comrades and Workers of Atlasia, to beautiful Ely, Minnesota, site of the June 2015 Labor Party Convention!

Comrades, friends, workers of Atlasia, I am deeply honored to welcome you all to Ely, Minnesota this month for what will surely be a historic convention. Over the past four months we have made significant strides forward in lifting the Atlasian worker, under our beloved President Bore. Our Party has grown to new heights, with many new members joining, winning election, and carrying forward the (dark) red banner of the Atlasian worker. This month we join together, in solidarity and unity, to officially adopt a platform of further change and progress and to officially endorse true champions of the Atlasian working class and the Atlasian People for elective office.

Please feel free to sign in below and make your voice publicly heard. I hereby call the the June 2015 Convention of the Labor Party of Atlasia -- the only party that has truly steadfastly stood up for the worker, that has truly stood up for the rights of the marginalized both at home and abroad, that has truly stood against oppressive forces in our society, that has truly stood up for our environment, and that has and continues to truly work for a future of solidarity, equality and justice -- to order!

Tentative Convention Agenda
June 5th: Convention Commences!
June 6th: Selecting a Location for our Fall Convention
June 9th: Presidential and Senatorial Endorsements
June 11th: Adopting the Party Platform

RESULTS:

First Round
Milwaukee: 4
Paducah: 4
Harper City: 3

Second Round
Milwaukee: 6
Paducah: 5

MILWAUKEE, WI has officially been selected for the Labor Party's Fall Convention!

We now turn to the second item on our agenda, endorsing candidates. The following candidates are automatically endorsed:

Mideast Senate: New Canadaland
Midwest Senate: Snowguy716

We have no candidates in the Pacific, Southeast, or Northeast Senate races. Any candidates running in those seats have 72 to declare that they wish to seek the Party's endorsement. Following this declaration, if at least one Labor Party member seconds their declaration, whether or not to endorse said candidate will be put before the convention for a vote.

In 72 hours, concurrent with that vote, we will also vote on which presidential ticket to endorse, as Labor Party members are running on two separate tickets:

Bore (Lab-RI)/Averroës Nix (TPP-SC)
BaconBacon96 (Ind-CO)/Bacon King (Lab-NU)

Representatives from both tickets are invited to make their case before the convention before voting begins.

I second rpryor03's request for endorsement.

We still have about an hour before endorsements end (72 hours). I'm inclined to put Hagrid and Turkisblau on the ballot, even though they have not requested the Party's endorsement (which the bylaws require), since they seem to have Party support. Would people be opposed to this?

We now have 72 hours to debate the party platform. I encourage all members to put forward suggestions for how we can update the platform to meet the realities of present-day Atlasia, so that we can put forward a clear and detailed agenda on behalf of the Atlasian Worker and the Atlasian People.

The floor is now open.
