x Cris

Alright! To reach our goal, we need a majority in at least 3 regions.

These are the regions number *

Mideast --> 25/48
Northeast -->20/38
Midwest --> 16/31
South --> 17/32 or 33 (33 if Hagrid's deregistration is invalid)
Pacific --> 11/21

* = Compared to the last RG's update, the South gained 1 citizen (Classic Conservative and Talleyrand in, Hagrid out) and the Northeast is unchanged (Talleyrand out, Pope Urban in)

As of a Person:

Mideast --> 2/25 (8%)
Northeast --> 1/20 (5%)
Midwest --> 1/16 (6.2%)
South --> 3/17 (17.6%)
Pacific --> 0/11 (0%)

It's time for an update!

As of pikachu:

Mideast --> 3/25 (12%)
Northeast --> 2/20 (10%)
Midwest --> 2/16 (12.5%)
South --> 3/17 (17.6%)
Pacific --> 1/11 (9.1%)

Atlasia is facing inactivity problems. There are a lot of difficulties to find candidates for regional legislatures. The Senate is not active as months ago. There is a loss of enthusiasm.
Now, we can do 2 things. We can leave Atlasia die slowly or we can start a Constitutional Convention, that provides a new start for Atlasia.
The purpose of this petition is not a Constitutional Convention that will lead to some minor reforms, but a Constitutional Convention that will lead to a radical change.

As expected, the reformists find their feel-good alternative to actual change. This will amount to nothing, because you'll all get there and then listen to Mr. Five-Year Senator talk about muh Federalist Papers and muh REGIONAL RITES and then nothing will change because King Yankee thinks that this game is his and it should be so for all eternity.

If you want real change, the answer is not reform, but a clean reset. No constitutional convention, no petitions for this or that incremental reform, but a clean end to this broken system and the creation of a new game.
All of us agree that if we won't do something, Atlasia will die slowly.
Not only you TNF. You aren't the only person that want a reset, a new system, radical changes. We want radical changes, not only simple reforms. Only a Constitutional Convention can provide a new start for Atlasia and I hope you will join the movement and add your signature at the petition.

Pacific --> 0/11 (0%)

What will most likely happen with a constitutional convention is that we fix some grammatical errors in the current constitution and claim that as MAJOR REFORM. The way the process is designed makes it virtually impossible to get anything of note actually passed.
Talleyrand,
We are t going to just fix a few grammatical errors. The day the petition passes. It will be that midnight after. Then all laws are null and void. And we start from the very beginning. That's how we are doing it the Constution will also be null and void. Please consider signing our petition.

That's not how a ConCon works. During a ConCon, the old constitution stays in effect until something new is passed and ratified by the people. If you want something of the like you propagate, draft an amendment to the constitution that says that the constitution is null and void and finished, and get that passed by the Senate and then by the regions.
It will never pass the Senate and the regions.
This is not right way to change, IMHO. With a Constitutional Convention, we can change a lot of things that are not working.

No we can't. The convention will inevitably be dominated by King Yankee, the Dinosaur Caucus, and the Zombie Armies of the do-nothings. We cannot waste time with another diversion if we mean to save Atlasia from itself.

Pull the plug on Atlasia, build something better. No to the Constitutional Convention!

It's not true. The Senate will decide how the Convention will work and, as Senator, I can assure to you that I'll do the best of my possibilities in order to have a Convention with active people and expecially a Convention that changes the things that are not working, that are a lot.
NO GRAMMATICAL CHANGES BUT RADICAL CHANGES.
NO SIMPLE REFORMS BUT A NEW START.

Also, if any of the dimwits that are behind this horrible idea had thought about this for at least two seconds, I am sure they would have found out that there has been a petition for a ConCon going on for nearly two years now, which leads us to two conclusions, a) that there wouldn't have been the slightest need for this new petition, and b) that it so simply impossible to call a Convention as, as we see, people have been trying it for two years continuously now, needless to say not successfully.

But I'm sure I will be called out for this because of this "calling people names is what destroyed Atlasia!!1!1!1" bs that has been going on the last few days.

Well. I took a look at that petition, but it's of two years ago, and I don't know if it's still valid.
Also... the actual conditions are different than 2 years ago and so I think that many people would retract their signatures on that petition.

It's time for an update.

UPDATE:

As of Windjammer:

Mideast --> 6/25 (24%)
Northeast --> 6/19 (31.6%)
Midwest --> 2/16 (12.5%)
South --> 3/17 (17.6%)
Pacific --> 1/11 (9.1%)

We are on the right track to get a Constitutional Convention, in which we can do radical changes at our Constitution in order to have a new start for Atlasia.

That should be five in the Mideast.
Yes. I'll do an update tomorrow.

Bump.

Really, with a ConCon we can reform Atlasia. We can fix a lot of things that are not working. I hope that this petition will get the enough support to be valid.

Bump.

Interesting proposals are emerging in these days, but we can do something with a Constitutional Convention!

Because even minor changes to the structure of this game have been utterly stonewalled in the past right up to now, I can't think that this would be anything other than quibbling over syntax and "regional rights."
As said a lot of times, a ConCon will not debate only about regional rights. Number of regions, legislative system, cabinet system are important things that will be debated.

UPDATE:

As of NCYankee:

Mideast --> 6/24 (25%)
Northeast --> 8/21 (38.1%)
Midwest --> 3/17 (17.6%)
South --> 4/16 (25%)
Pacific --> 6/11 (54.5%)

We want a reboot for this game, but a reboot is only possible with reforms. We can call a Constitutional Convention that changes the number of regions, the legislative system, the executive system and the relationship between federal and regional government. Please join us. This is the last call. Please contact all your Atlasia friends. We can do it!

I just talked to Adam and he is sad fof what happened, because he feel like he was going to help turn the game around and getting the dialogue going in the right direction. He also said that he wants the process for a Constitutional Convention to go ahead. He is one of the fathers of this game, maybe the most committed person to this game, so let's do it.

I'm interested. But I won't formally commit as Mock Parliament has my full attention at the moment.
It needs only a signature. Why not trying? Smiley

Update coming soon.
