Orthodox Jews rebelling against an overly-cold and unmoving rabbinical establishment in favor of a form of Orthodox Judaism more reliant on personal faith and the ability to interact with the outside world rather than sitting around studying all day?
Truly, I have never heard of anything like this before. What a novel idea.(Baal Shem Tov probably wouldn't have supported the ordination of women, but he'd be too busy dancing and singing in bucolic nature scenes praising what God has made to worry about who is and is not a rabbi)
