I am tired of people calling me un-American too and saying that I am unpatriotic. Waving the American flag does not deter terrorism.

No he wont, he's really willing to go after them.  I like this quote.....

"When I look up, that flag is still there and it belongs to all Americans," he said, pointing to a flag near the stage. "Not to them, not to a party. It belongs to us."

ouch..... and its totally true about the attitude of republicans

Hawks are by definition more patriotic than doves.

Perhaps, but the definition of 'patriotic' is rather foggy in some quarters. Hawks often confuse it for nationalism, for instance.

Good point

nationalism - Devotion to the interests or culture of one's nation; The belief that nations will benefit from acting independently rather than collectively

patriotism - Love of and devotion to one's country

the only one who ever says anyone is questioning Kerry's patriotism is Kerry.  We hear him whine about it every day.  I haven't heard a single Republican utter that charge.  So what's his beef anyway?  It's legit to go after his voting record on defense and foreign policy.  There's plenty there to go after.  If Kerry doesn't like it - too bad.  Let him whine.

that's an interesting observation.  I have not yet heard Bush badmouth Kerry for his lack of commitment to the Republic.  Has anyone else?

No, I believe it - hawks are willing to fight, and nations must fight all the time, or give in to another stronger or more willing to fight.

Kerry does seem to have more of a backbone than Dukakis, I'll give him that.  But I still dislike both of them.
