I mean this is one of his strongest lines of attack, not surprising at all.

I guess that a stronger line of attack would be on McCaskill’s flip-flop on sanctuary cities.

Is there a reason why every thread on here is about how the Democrats are going to loose in November?

It is just aimed at informing people.

So like I said, Claire McCaskill has flip-flopped on sanctuary cities and her actions depended on the years : in October 2015 and on July 2016 (while her senate seat was not up for re-election), she voted against bringing a bill to the Senate floor that would make sanctuary cities ineligible for certain federal law enforcement grants. And then she shifted her position in 2018 (partly because it's an election year during which her senate seat is in play) when she voted to limit federal funding to sanctuary cities. It demonstrates how much she's ready to say or do anything to win votes in a red state like Missouri. In conclusion, I think these are terrific attacks Hawley could use against McCaskill (whether it's on the campaign trail or in attack ads) to prevail in Missouri.

This senate campaign is a lot more low key than expected. Hawley has been such a lackadaisical campaigner that I almost never see anything from his or his campaign on the news or in print/online. Sure, there are ads blanketing the airwaves, but that doesn't really say much. McCaskill is obviously working her butt off to be reelected, and her voice is filling the vacuum left by Hawley's. Honestly, it is hard to see him pulling off a win if he continues to be so low energy.

Hawley's campaing has finally started running ads, where up to this point it had all been outside groups pouring in against McCaskill. McCaskill's campaign has been on the air, unchallenged, since April.

I had a brief interaction with someone on one of the news websites that I frequent, who is convinced that Hawley will beat McCaskill. I told them that the polls have shown McCaskill in the lead, and that she has been working vigorously towards reelection. They however, countered by saying that Hawley hasn't been officially nominated and hasn't really started to campaign, and that McCaskill is doomed. That of course, seems to be a grave misinterpretation of that race.

People have been predicting the end of McCaskill’s political career since 2004.

Well, if you keep predicting it long enough, eventually you'll be right. Wink

Yeah, if nothing else she'll eventually die. Though maybe her corpse could win re-election like Carnahan. Smiley

ND is by far the seat I'm most concerned about at this point, it's a relief that the media market is tiny and Heitkamp doesn't need the cash. Dems need to be pouring money into FL and IN.
