I am chief general of the Armed Forces of South America because reasons. I am very approachable. My office is directly opposite Parliament House. It's so close you could almost shoot into it! The increased military presence around Parliament is purely coincidental and citizens have nothing to fear.

The Guardia Civil are pleased to assist you in all matters from petty crime to traffic regulations.

Curfew will not be in place today.

PS  Our soldiers are hot.

The core principle of the gendarme is to maintain order in the lawless vacuum in which citizens currently exist. Order need not require force.

My men and women can however fight. But why on earth would they need to?

Mr. afleitch, does the armed forces have to be approved by Parliament before it is activated?

Perhaps the Minister of Foreign Affairs would like to comment on this as well.

BRIEFING - Today's manoeuvres.

The 1st Army of Uruguay is currently patrolling our nations undetermined capital region. Smiling faces greet our soldiers on street corners. There is some confusion amongst civilians who are not sure what to do, and whether it is sanctioned by parliament. We are re-assuring civilians that they can continue with their daily lives and that salaries will be paid.

The newly installed 'PARLIAMENT WILL DETERMINE ALL' signs have been subject to graffiti. We have yet to determine what the law is on graffiti, or on public assembly so have been reluctant to take any action against civilians.

The changing of the guard, now playing orchestral remixes of slightly out of date but culturally relevant songs has proven a popular attraction for tourists as we raise our glorious flag of still to be determined design.

The armed forces exist irrespective of Parliament. The armed forces exist to protect the Workers.

But Captain Afleitch, loosely speaking, our society consists of the upper, middle, and lower classes, not simply what you refer to as the Workers, or, what may be referred to as the working class.

Does this armed forces, or this militia, not have the responsibility to protect all in society, not simply one group in society?  And if not, these armed forces or this militia are surely not performing their full and proper function in society, i.e. to serve and protect all members of our society.

We can assume that the new parliament will be enacting legislation to protect the rights of workers and others in society.

And not to be difficult, but simply for matters of clarification, please explain from where, or from which authority, the rank of Captain has been bestowed upon you.

This type of bourgeois thinking is in danger of stifling this country. This is South America, a developing continent. This is not Atlasia where everyone from the billionaire to the unemployed thinks of themselves as 'middle class'.

All who struggle against the ruling class are the Workers. The Armed Forces support the Workers and will continue to do so. We will watch keenly as a Conservative administration takes it upon itself to determine the constitutional make-up of this nation and the rights that people are entitled to, constrained as it may be with ideological baggage.

The Armed Forces determines it's organisational structure

Sincerely,

Capitan Afleitch

BRIEFING - Today's manoeuvres.

Capitan Afleitch will today personally escort the Speaker of the House of the Atlasian Republic to the border/border authorities and ensure his protection from xenophobic government forces.

My understanding is that Speaker Cris is Speaker of Atlasia.

From not knowing that Armed Forces constitute an air force and navy to forgetting what country people are in does not fill the Armed Forces with confidence, despite attempts to undermine the integrity of this force Wink

The security forces of the Ministry of Infrastructure, when found, will supress this republican demonstration.

The Armed Forces have continued in their support of the people by ensuring that convoys of migrants heading north are not impeded in anyway by state forces. There have been no clashes with government forces as of yet. Demonstrations are peaceful and the voice of the people has not yet been silenced.

In a show of solidarity I will do something no elected official has yet done;

I, Afleitch do solemnly, sincerely, and truly declare and affirm, that I will be faithful to the People of South America from whom all sovereignty is derived.
