Mr. Speaker,

I move that this House applauds the honorable service of those brave warriors who raided the FARC compound to rescue dozens of innocent South Americans and likewise condemn the fringe left-wing extremism personified by the FARC narcoterrorist revolutionaries.

Mr Speaker,

I move that this House applauds the fact that kittens are, indeed, adorable creatures.

Order, I appreciate that the Honorable Member likes to keep a sense of humor going in the House, but the motion presented can not possibly be construed to touch any policy brief or issue that is debatable before the House.

Therefore I cannot bring the motion to the floor.  I do hope that Honorable Members understand my reasoning here; if the motion is amended to address any policy brief in any quantifiable way I will be happy to bring it to the floor.

Mr. Speaker,

with all due respect, I fail to see any difference in regards to "touching policy briefs" between the resolutions offered by the honourable Prime Minister and the honourable member Al Sibboleth.

No, no. The Leader of the Opposition knows quite well the basis of my reasoning. I do appreciate the intended effect, but this is simply farcical to bring to the floor.

Mr. Speaker,

I move that this house commemorate the lives and the loss of the, as of this moment, 132 people killed in the callous atrocities in Paris over the weekend. Terrorism and the targeting of innocent civilians is never justified or justifiable. We offer our condolences to the people of France and we mourn with them.
