I as an honorable member of the Parliament of South America would like to invite other left-wing members to an alliance opposing the Conservative-Liberal government.

We will only accept membership from the Socialist Party and the Workers' Party. Hopefully the leaderships of both parties will support this and coordinate actions together.

And just to clarify, this is an affinity group within Parliament, not a party.

Just a note that I am very happy to see Honorable Members forming work-groups in the Parliament.  If any members here would like assistance with the operation of the House, I am always available.

In the interest of the working class of South America, the Workers Party will participate in actions jointly with the Socialist Party where a common interest can be found in advancing the position of the South American working class. We will not hesitate to criticize the Socialist Party for engaging in tactics or advocating policies that we find counterproductive to the interests of the working class, nor will we be a 'reliable footsoldier' for Socialist Party policies. We shall march together when it makes sense, but strike separately. We are in favor of a United Front so long as it does not impede the ability of the Workers Party to present its own program to the masses.

Why must one be a member of one the two parties? Are independent leftists like myself really barred from joining?

It's a Parliamentary group, so sadly you can't join. Though if you ever get elected to Parliament you can join.

After our(the left's that is) deafeat, I must call once agian for a United Front between the Worker's Party and the Socialists. If the party leaderships could at least negotiate some deal as to allow for a temporary(as we in the Worker's Party are radicals and you, the Socialists are reformists) alliance for the Working classes of South America.
