Perhaps altering the way we do our elections would be one way to go.... many local elections have two rounds- a first round and a runoff
Every one votes for ONE candidate...if no candidate gets 50% + 1,the top two vote getters go into a run-off election....perhaps scheduled for two weeks later....
I believe there is a chance this would make elections more interesting,but either way- figured it was an idea worth proposing....

I don't really know.
That's how French elections work, but everyone is listing a preference anyway - so we know what would've happened if it was a straight race between the top two candidates.
However, it could make things more interesting...
