Welcome to my new office.

Russiaville, IN

Thank you all for coming. Many of you know me and some of you don't. For those who don't know me I'm John Calvin Libertas and have been representing you in the Assembly the past several months. I'll just keep it short, sweet, and to the point. I'm concerned. I'm concerned that some in the halls of power want to totally change the culture of the Mideast by the laws they support and propose. I'm rather reluctant to change unless the change will benefit every Mideast citizen and still stay true to my own personal conscience. Recent laws passed threaten to change the culture that we wish to preserve. Life, tolerance of diverse viewpoints, and prosperity in the region are very important and we all should fight for them.

Bienvenidos.

Simply put, I'm running for governor of the Mideast region to preserve and restore a region that works.

Best of luck, JCL! A few questions:

1. Do you support a reduction in the number of Regions and, if so, do you prefer a 3-Region or 4-Region map?

2. Do you support a statute reboot?

Thanks,
HST

I'm against consolidation. The reason for that I'm rather leery of changing our map in a rather chaotic time. I think the consolidation debate needs to wait until after we formulate the new constitution.

With regards to a statute reboot, I would favor a limited reboot. Things like criminal law and infrastructure should stay as they are for a continuity of law and order.

Because I hadn't changed it since starting dating the geologist (last year). I probably should change it though.

Issues:

Abortion Liberalization Act
The recently passed act removed parental notifications and made it easier to have said abortion services. This is completely incompatible with the pro-life culture of this region. As governor I will propose legislation to repeal this act and restore the laws it repealed.

Constitutional Convention
As one of the early signatories I am in full support. As part of said reforms I would advocate for reforms which expand regional powers while curtailing federal. I oppose consolidation as none of the 3 region maps are favorable to this region or my home state.

Infrastructure
If given cooperation from the Assembly and the private sector, the next stages of high-speed rail should be started. Expanding services to more people will lead to job growth and increased revenue.

Get out the vote in your regions for the people you want to see as delegate for the Constitutional Convention. I jumped in to fight for regions to be stronger and a bicameral legislature.

This morning I swore in front of a court and a grand jury that I never had sexual interactions with JCL or any other male citizens.

Chicago, IL

We are in interesting times in the life of the game. A Constitutional Convention to reform how we play this fine game that we play. It's important work that needs to be done and advocates of regional rights need as many voices as possible. Some may think my votes in favor of peaceful succession are odd given that I'm pro-Union. It couldn't be further from the truth. I wish that no region feel under represented in the operations of the national government. Needless to say we should have constitutional mechanisms where peaceful departure or reunion with Atlasia should be possible. Wether regional governments or the national one in Nyman, the freedom of self government should always be something we strive to defend.

To those who think that my views are a radical and aggressive form of conservatism, I've actually been trying to take a more centrist role in the Constitutional Convention in the debate over wether the regions have secession as an option. Our region prospered with conservative economic policies and a pro-life culture which was rather tolerant in comparison to the policies of the others. I followed those principles and still found ways to work with the labor majority that has recently come to leadership in the region.
