The most popular current politician in IL is definitely SoS Jesse White (D). He was first elected in 1998 and was reelected in 2002 while carrying all 102 counties. Most recently in 2014 he won a fifth term with 65.7% of the vote. Besides his work in the SoS office he is well known for his work with inner city youth founding the Jesse White Tumblers that appear at halftimes and in parades around the state (and world).

California: Dianne Feinstein

New York: Andrew Cuomo

Illinois: Rahm Emanuel

California: Jerry Brown; I think he beats out Feinstein who is not much liked on the left. Even though Brown is also a centrist, there is no question that he has governed the state well and he deserves a lot of credit for cleaning up the Schwarzenegger era and before messes.

New York: Hillary!

Massachusetts: Elizabeth Warren

New Hampshire: Gov. Maggie Hassan

Maine: ex-Sen. Snowe

Vermont: Bernie!

Maryland: Mikulski

Pennsylvania: Bob Casey

New Jersey: Corey Booker

Delaware: Biden

Illinois: Obama

Indiana: ex-Gov Daniels

Michigan: ex-Sen. Carl Levin

Ohio: Gov. Kasich

Kentucky: Gov. Beshear

Virginia: ex-Gov. Wilder

Oregon: Wyden

Montana: Schweitzer

This is interesting. It seems there are some states that like both senators and the governor and other states where all are relatively unpopular or unknown.

Funnily enough, Huntsman is no longer as popular as he once was in Utah. Becoming ambassador in a Democratic President's administration and going on talks shows claiming you're less Mormon and more "spiritual" tends to diminish Utah Mormon support for you.
