I wonder if he cries himself to sleep at night knowing that his completely and utterly useless, dumb as dogsh!t brother somehow managed to be President for two terms and he never will be.

Other than Bobby Jindal, he is the smartest person running for President in BOTH PARTIES.

.

People might have confused "more serious and socially awkward than Dubya" with "smarter than Dubya."

Oh he definitely is. I'm sure he has more book smarts, that's why he's hailed as "intellectual", but Jeb's problem is that daddy and everyone else pat Jebby on the back as the good boy, where as George W. had to learn lessons the hard way because he was the naughty boy. The fact is, George W. has more practical and personable knowledge than Jebby has so it's not even comparable which is the smarter of the two.

At least Jeb can form coherent sentences, Dubya has so many Bushisms it wasn't even funny.

Do you see how often Jeb is screwing up? Dubya made Bushisms, which were little goofs that did no real damage to his campaign - he didn't make outright tactical errors. Jeb does both.

I will accept the argument that Jeb is more learned, that does not make Jeb smarter. And if this campaign is evidence of anything, Jeb is the dumb brother.

Running for president in both parties is difficult.  Even Henry Ford couldn't pull it off. Maybe Jeb should just stick with one.

I'd bet good money that W bullied Jeb in their youth.

Earl Warren managed to secure the Democratic nomination for governor in 1946. But that kind of performance is pretty rare.

George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush were anointed  by the party - yeah the former lost Iowa and the latter lost New Hampshire, but they never truly lost frontrunner status. Jeb Bush has to get nominated in a very crowded field, something the Bush family doesn't know how to do, so of course he's going to look pathetic until he wins a state.

Funny how everyone is ready to right Jeb off and the contest is only in it's infant stages. No votes have been cast and everyone is in a tizzy over Donald Trump. Why? Because that blow-hard is saying the "right" things? btw I use "Right" advisably. I seem to recall that Rick Perry was polling at roughly the same ratio that Trump is today. True! No campaign is like another, but today's front-runner can be tomorrow's has been.  My money is on Jeb. He's in this for the long haul and all you nay-sayers can carry on about why Jeb is in this contest at least until the first voters have had there say. So no matter what you say pro-Trump or Pro-Clinton supporters have to say. Better get used to the idea, he's not taking the hint. Remember he's a Bush & has learned well from Dubya and Poppy....remember they were both written off at various stages, one for losing New Hampshire by double digits, the other for being a wimp, well we all know what happened there. Guess Jeb hasn't gotten the memo yet...about....you know...quitting. There's no incentive and he definitely doesn't want to quit while the jury's out. It's so annoying at how well he did at the CNN debate,  now he has no incentive to quit...ha ha😀😁

Even without Trump the field hardly cleared for Jeb did it-the fact that Rubio is running is an extra kick in the teeth.

Also can we identify something-Jindal is book smart, but he's a stupid politician. He comes out with absolute hogwash. But on Jeb we've heard how he's the smart bush-ironic when in 1994 he when asked what he'd do for African-Americans he said 'probably nothing'.

The guy isn't a natural campaigner, he doesn't have the energy or reach that Obama, GWB or Clinton had. He's a rather average swing state governor, who yeah ticked the conservative boxs but never did anything that big

Romney at least look like he enjoyed running for President.

Fair point. Although who knows if Romney would've kept a smile on his face while running against Trump.

What about Fred Thompson 2008, and Rick Perry 2012? The late entries that the media breathlessly told us was the frontrunner, and surged in the polls, only to crash and burn in an epic manner?

And as bad as Rick Perry was, Fred Thompson was more overrated. He made Ben Carson at the debate yesterday seem high energy.

H.W. managed a solid run in a relatively crowded field in 1980.

Well you are supporting the dumbest person to run for President in almost two decades, so I wouldn't be lecturing anyone on how bad their candidate is if I were you.

I still believe the nomination is there for the taking.  There's too much "time" right now for Trump to stay on top.  He will fizzle.  Jeb Bush has the most important thing on his side...$$$.  Once that kicks in, and as time gets on his side, I think he can do it.  I'm not hoping he does, but I still believe the nomination ends up in his hands.

Dubya is the smart Bush brother. Chew on that for a moment.

Jeb Bush's problem is that he feels that he is owed the nomination, so he feels like he doesn't have to actually work for it - which he wouldn't be willing to do anyway, because I get the sense that he hates campaigning.

At least W enjoyed the campaign process.
