haha, George Will's wife out of a job.

Seriously, Walker had a lot of potential but he listened too much to DC consultants. 5 differing positions on anchor babies and a wall with Canada.

You mean American citizens?

They shouldnt be. Only in the US and Canada are anchor babies considered citizens. Reagardless of what YOU think. Do you think 5 positions is good policy?

Nope and he did that with like 50% of the issues in the race. He ran towards the middle for the 2014 race and then spun back to the right after the race.

Most likely what he did was speak from the heart, then he was spanked by his DC consultants who think the holy grail is the Cheap Labor Express and the hispanic vote.

I actually think the opposite - Walker tried to be tough, but truthfully I don't think he really cares about immigration.

Weren't the debates going to go to 8 candidates once there were just 14 left? Discounting Gilmore, there are 14 left. I think this means a debate of 8, so two of Christie/Kasich/Paul get demoted.

TRUMP is laying waste to the Republican party. First Perry, now Walker. All it took was a couple of tweets from TRUMP pointing out Walker's horrible record in Wisconsin and his campaign completely collapsed.

Can't wait for that idiot Nate Silver to apologize for predicting that Walker had a better chance of being the nominee than TRUMP.

Or, you know, the whole him flip-flopping on every issue and being generally uninspiring/vague.

It's shocking to see how far he has fallen.

That was CNN.  The next debate is on CNBC, who haven't yet said what their rules for inclusion will be.  I'm betting that they'll just invite the top 10 candidates and not bother with a 2nd tier debate.

The first of the top 11 to drop out!

Have to say I'm surprised he dropped out so soon, I would've pegged him as the type to keep his campaign limping along for a few more months.

Lol at Walker being brought down by the 'DC' consultants-he favoured immigration reform and turned hard right.

At least he lasted longer than Pewlenty

Oh god please let it be Kasich and (maybe) Huckabee.

With Walker out, the RCP averages are now:

Trump 28.5%
Carson 18.8%
Bush 7.8%
Rubio 7.3%
Cruz 6.5%
Fiorina 6.3%
Huckabee 4.8%
Paul 3.5%
Kasich 2.5%
Christie 1.8%
--------------------------------------
Santorum 0.8%
Jindal 0.3%
Graham 0%
Pataki N/A
Gilmore N/A

I know the top-ten criterion is no longer used, but I thought it was interesting to see how the situation has changed since the first debate.

By my rough count, Pawlenty actually lasted longer by 2 weeks.

He ruined himself forever on gay marriage. Hopefully, he can support it openly now, not that it matters much.

Any chance, the establishment wanted him out?

Does this mean one of kiddies will be promoted to the big league debate?

#GiveUsLindsey

Get real, Gay marriage isnt why he failed to gain traction. It was his muddled message on immigration

If true, count me as one who is genuinely surprised by this, with him having been a potential unifying candidate. I guess this makes him more Tim Pawlenty than John McCain. Is it a Midwestern thing?

LOL!!!!!!! Such a pathetic campaign and a pathetic man.

Remember when everyone flipped out because some posters dared to say a simple college education is a plus for presidential candidates? Roll Eyes Looks like he didn't have the mental capacity to see this through.

This is quite a shock, I thought a few others would drop out before him.

I hated him as a Governor but compared to some other whackjobs running for president he wasn't the worst, or even second worst.

Didn't Pawlenty drop out in early August immediately after the Iowa Straw Poll? I would think Walker outlasted him unless he declared later.

Don't kid yourself. It's because he was a boring midwestern governor who wants to make it clear to you that he has a record! This is why Atlas is deliriously incompetent 50% of the time.

It is obvious at this point, but for what it is worth, I do have confirmation from someone within the Walker campaign that he is dropping out, so there is no chance that this is just a rumor.

Dropping out immediately after plummeting to 0% in that new CNN poll is just hilarious.

And to think he was supposed to be some GOP savior even though it was always clear he was a massive dud.

What an embarrassment.

Shows the power of media for the establishment candidates. All the press said the debates was his last chance, he bombed and the media all said he was basically a dead man standing. Even after the last debate I'd of said he'd last until Iowa

Just a reminder that at the start of August, Walker was in 2nd place on the RCP average.

I will give him credit for seeing the writing on the wall. He doesn't have what it takes and quickly got out before things got REALLY embarrassing for him.

Still a horrible, stupid person though.

Okay for the final time what was Walker going to learn in his last semester that was so critical? Like regardless of if you love him or hate him what was it?
