Because other Republicans aren't right-wingers or what? Also, what exactly makes him a nut? Is it because he's Black?
No that's not the reason. I was just wondering why exactly his favorables are so high right now, when in effect he's saying much of the same things like Trump - just that Trump has the complete opposite favorable ratings (at least among all voters).
What do certain Dems and Indys see in Carson what they don't see in Trump ? Maybe the fact that Dem/Indy Americans like successful doctors more than they like businessmen ?
For many voters, a candidate's temperament trumps (ha ha) any stated policy positions. Temperament is interpreted as ideology. Trump is caustic, so many people read him as a raging partisan. Carson is "low energy", so he seems more reasonable, regardless of what he's actually saying.
Also, Carson is more well known on the right than he is on the left. So Republicans know him well enough to like him, while Democrats don't know him well enough to dislike him, if that makes sense. Trump, on the other hand, is well known across the spectrum.
