Thought I would start a Trump on SNL megathread. Start off by watching the promos

http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/donald-trump-snl-promo-watch-saturday-night-live-ratings-1201633605/

he calls Carson a loser in one and a couple of the others joke about FCC equal time limits.

I turned LV's thread into a live commentary thread for the episode in question.  It's tonight at 11:30pm Eastern.  Feel free to post live commentary here.

something to watch for tonight, the Latino group that has been protesting outside of 30 Rock this week is offering $5k to any audience member that screams out "racist" to Trump during the broadcast.

That $5,000 could probably be better spent helping a single Latina mother feed her kids, but it does add an interesting wild card into the mix.

I can understand why some may be offended by Trump's appearance on SNL, but we DO have free speech in this country and just because you don't approve of what someone says doesn't give you the right to shut that person down.

Yes but if Trump's comments tarnish his brand, people who do business with him are less inclined to continue doing so. See all the brands that have disassociated themselves from Trump. It's the free market at work.

Yes but NBC chose to continue with Trump being on SNL and that is their right.

Someone should ask Trump, if NBC is so unfair to Republicans, why did he accept their invitation in the first place? Is the Republican "liberal media" mantra just another tactic to appeal to angry voters?

Any predictions as to what other political figures we'll be seeing impersonations of tonight?  Are we sure to get a GOP debate sketch?  Will Jay Pharoah or Keenan Thompson impersonate Ben Carson?

Keenan has said he will be doing Carson a few weeks ago, but not sure we will get a GOP debate. I think they would prefer to do that without the real Trump. My bet is they will do a sketch set with future President Trump dealing with some crisis. For the cold open, it's hard to imagine they wouldn't do a Carson sketch with all the news this week, but not sure Trump would want to be in such a sketch. Sure they will find a way to get the Clintons to show up at some point.

Agreed. So the free market worked.

Maybe I am biased, but as a loyal SNL fan, I find Trump not that funny tonight. The funniest part of the monologue was the fake Trumps. I don't really feel like the President Trump sketch was executed that well, and I don't get how it ended. The live tweets were ok, but didn't seem that creative.
