Not surprising that Edwards's over-the-top and way-over-the-line "Prostitutes over Patriots" ad is backfiring. A redux of Aqua Buddha was never going to work, and it is helping many soft Republicans go back into the Vitter camp. That trendline bodes fairly well for the Senator, as does the fact that the desperate media onslaught against him has not further hurt his numbers. It's beyond idiotic to disqualify someone from office because they once frequented a prostitute 15 years ago. Especially rich considering how he is being crucified for it, while Ted Kennedy, a known murderer, gets away with his repeated, aggressive misogynistic behavior!
