So what demographic groups did they "win" in this election?  Besides the obvious "people in Alberta and Saskatchewan"?

I'm sure they won the rural vote and probably seniors.  And maybe the less educated.

Among ethno-cultural-religious groups, Mormons, Mennonites and probably Protestants as a whole went Conservative.  Chinese and Jews were likely pretty evenly split between the Liberals and Conservatives.

Among ancestry groups, Dutch and Ukrainian Canadians probably vote more conservatively than "WASP" Canadians, just given their demographic profiles.

I think 65+ voters narrowly voted Liberal. EKOS had them at 38-37 Liberal, with the Liberals at 36% in the poll overall, rather than the 39.5% on election night. It's the NDP and Greens that perform poorly with seniors.

Did the NDP win any demographics? First Nations seem like a possibility.

That would be pretty much their only one if they did, but it's more likely they split with the Liberals.

I doubt they won trade unionists even if that's remained a relatively good demographic.

Probably not, but they likely won a few tribes of course. Possibly the Cree?

Ironically the places with the highest % with English ancestry - rural Newfoundland and Vancouver Island - were dead zones for the Conservatives (of course they represent a small proportion of all "WASP" Canadians).

Vancouver Island was only a CPC dead zone in 2015. In 2011 the CPC almost won the island 38.5-38.4 and they actually won Vancouver Island in 2008.

Newfoundland was also friendlier to the Conservatives pre-ABC. In 2006 the Conservatives performed better in NFLD (42.8%) than nationally. In 2008 most of that support bled to the NDP.
