Genuinely fascinating, if maybe a bit overly mercurial at times.

Anyway, Gramsci is an interesting and overlooked FF.

Hardly; he's one of the few Marxist thinkers who's reputation has survived entirely unscathed the collapse of the Communist project.

He was a Marxist whose writings aren't full of drivel in retrospect, which is good. His dedication to a Comintern party even as Moscow became increasingly opposed to what he stood for is a bit ridiculous, but I'll grant him that he was one of the better members of the PCI.

Not that I agree with Oldiesfreak, but wouldn't it be odd not to judge a political figure by their political views? The grandparents analogy is pretty silly - I don't think anyone would, say, claim that Nixon was an FF just because he was a good family man or something like that.
