It would be an uphill battle, but if Cruz could beat Hillary how would he do it?

Ted's Super PAC (which he helped get started) actually outlined his GE strategy (or at least their argument). They argue they he will be able to win all states Bush won in either 2000 or 2004, which is the same as your above map plus NV and MN.

They believe that they will do better than Romney with whites because there are untapped conservatives that stayed home in 2008/12, that blacks arent an issue because they will return to pre-Obama era levels of participation, and that he will also be able to match Bush's record levels with Hispanics because his name is Rafael.

Of course, this is insane but that is their plan
