He probably has reason to be, since he isn't sure whether all the support he is registering in national polls is going to translate into actual votes.

Undoubtedly. And I don't mean in terms of his electoral prospects, I mean in terms of his own self-image. That's why he lashes out so vociferously every time someone says even mildly negative things about him. Donald Trump wants America to be his personal safe space.
