Inb4 IndyRep's "Ayotte is doomed cause she isn't leading by more".

But yeah, not great numbers for either of them. We have long ways to go until the election, still. We know better than to make predictions based on such an early poll, right guys? Right?

No, I think he'd somehow work in a tasteless comment about NH women (I'd still love to know the story behind his grudge with NH women ... gotta be really embarrassing), too.

Anyway, great news.  Go Ayotte!

Hopefully NH voters won't be fooled by her very recent moderate "courage"

What's interesting is that this same poll is showing large Democratic victories in all the presidential matchups. More proof that Ayotte will be able to face down even a large Democratic landslide Smiley

This race has been consistently close, I don't see how it could be called anything other than a toss-up.

I can say the same about Hassan, which she is just as popular. Either one can win, its a tossup.

Pssh.  Maybe, just maybe, NH residents know what they're getting with Ayotte and that's what they want.

Sitting governors have a great track record on taking out incumbent Senators.

Ayotte is definitely in for a hard fight.

Ah, yes, like Jeanne Shaheen did in 2002?

No incumbent Governor has taken out an incumbent Senator since Tom Carper beat Bill Roth in 2000; to be fair, incumbent Governors do not often run for the Senate. Ex-governors do more frequently, and their record is mixed; Linda Lingle, who was an overwhelmingly popular Governor, was defeated in a landslide for a Senate run, while Angus King and Mike Rounds were elected comfortably. It just all depends. All this poll shows is that if the presidential election is a Democratic landslide, as PPP's electorate shows, Ayotte will still narrowly lead Hassan.

Strickland and Hassan are Govs and the polls are tight right now. If I was Ayotte or Portman, sitting tied with a Gov, isnt a position I would want.
