Young children are already far too obsessed with Minecraft.

Well there goes any chance of having the kids get any homework done. Unless the homework is Minecraft.

It's a great game, but I don't see how it can really help with education.

If it's done right it could help a lot, if it's done wrong nobody will use it.  I don't see the problem....but then I don't have a knee jerk hatred of Micro$oft or companies in general.  It feels good to be open minded. Wink  You lefties should try it sometime.

I have nothing against companies, but everything against the tendency to transform children into computer zombies that early "because it's 2016". Please let them play outside instead of this.

Well, first this will be available in classrooms, and next thing you know kids will have to have this at home as well.

You say that as if it's a bad thing....an educational game kids play at home....but no, they won't be forcing kids to have this at home anytime soon.  Kids already play video games, kids already play educational video games at school (and have since I was in school a thousand years ago)...what's wrong with Microsoft/Minecraft (and actually neither Microsoft nor the creators of Minecraft built the mod the kids will be using) throwing their hat in the ring?

The thing is, they've already had Minecraft installed on computers at my old middle school for years.
