I love this story.

The $681m in my bank account wasn't embezzled, it was a present from a foreign royal family.

Amazing.

I don't see how that makes it better. In fact, it makes it worse. At least if someone embezzles from the country, they would theoretically have an incentive to make sure their country is economically strong enough to be worth embezzling from. Being paid off to this extreme extent is just absurd.

I am so looking forward to BN being smashed next election (I have no idea why western media isn't more angry at Anwar Ibrahim's arrest, but eh)

Low expectations, Malaysia are a Muslim country, which doesn't behave like complete monsters or fail to understand the very basics of international diplomacy. When Iran burn embassades down, the Saud's and Turks support medieval monsters, Sudan commit genocide, Mauritania have open slave markets, Gulf intellectuals speak in favour of sex slavery, the Central Asian states have comical and insane strongmen... etc. Who cares about Malaysia being less than a perfect democracy.

I would imagine it's not the easiest thing to embezzle money anymore from the State, it's not the 1800s..
