Yes. Here in Northern California, there's a rather sizeable Muslim community.

What's the point of the question?

The question I have is this: what, if anything, is wrong with what this young lady says?

Muslims must begin to address the issues that she brings up, especially with regard to the treatment of women.

I'm curious, have you actually met and know any Muslims? If so did it change your perception of Muslims?

Who the hell has never met a Muslim? I even dated a non-practicing.

There aren't very many of them in some places. I don't know if you're Australian but I think there are a lot more down there than in the US.

Anyways, yes, and like any demographic, they're mostly great people with a few bad ones here and there.

Have I met or saw a Muslim, yes. But the question was do I personally know a Muslim, therefore the answer is no.

Someone who's well-versed in Arabic language and Middle Eastern culture? Dunno.

I live on planet Earth. My very first college roommate was Muslim.  A Muslim colleague has exited my office about 3 minutes ago.

Actually, I should correct a bit. My very first college roommate was a Confederate-flag waiving la crosse playing jock, who, probably, thought he was Christian (if he ever thought anything at all: on that last point I myself remain agnostic). However, after about 3 days in our freshman year he disappeared into some girlfriendīs room and I never saw him again. So, technically it was my second college roommate who was a Muslim (it was the first roommate with whom I ever had a conversation).

There was an Egyptian in my class last year and he would talk to the professor about crops and diseases in his homeland after class, and I would often stay and listen in.
