Anyone think this op-ed might be on to something?

It's true, but his supporters won't care. There is virtually nothing he can do that will make them not like him at this point.

Even if Scalia hadn't died, I don't see how Trump would have grown his support much past what he has now. Conservatives and evangelicals are far too opposed to his candidacy.

Are they enough to deny him the nomination?

Imagine the pressure this writer must have felt to get this op-ed to press before Trump wins South Carolina by 20.

Yes. I think it's safe to say (at least at this point) that absent a major change in Trump's rhetoric, there is very little room for his support to grow.

Come on guys. Even Nate Silver might be finally realizing that Trump isn't going to crash and burn tomorrow.

I support Trump because I trust him to reward his Evangelical endorsers with a pro-life candidate. He still needs to be re-elected.

"We're totally going to support Trump, but now that Scalia had died..."

Seriously...

The same was said when he was at 20% nationally...

Again...

Trump's numbers resemble Mitt Romney's in 2012. People think that he means he has a tight ceiling because conservatives won't support him. That could not be further from the truth.

Guys, the man accused the last Republican president of being responsible for 9/11 and that he knowingly lied the country into war, and his numbers barely budged.
Snap out of your fantasy about a random development dooming his candidacy.
