I could see McCain doing it after he wins his primary. This will be his last term most likely anyway. Though Kirk seems likely as well.

Also, what about Lisa Murkowski? She's moderate, a woman with the first potential female President, won as a write-in last time, in a state that Trump lost.

Ouch,

That would be great ammunition for Hillary in a Presidential debate forum.

Donald will struggle to be elected President at it is. His campaign style really needs everyone on board to get him across the line.

Trump needs to have a united party behind him. If the Republicans fragment into smaller pieces, then they will fail.

Given the nature of media production in 2016, it is simply not possible to manage this type of campaign anymore.

Every disgruntled Republican who wants their "15 minutes" is going to go to CNN or Sixty Minutes and start flapping their gums.

She's in AK, a safe red state, and facing no Democratic opposition as of right now

This would be conceivable from Kirk or Murkowski. Hopefully we see a mass movement, of course.

I'm assuming that's John McCain, one of Trump's first victims when he first burst into our consciousness last July.

I bet it's Mark Kirk. He'll still lose though. Of the ones listed, McCain, Portman, and Ayotte will all refuse to endorse Trump, though stop short of endorsing Hillary. Burr, Toomey, and Blunt will make moderate-hero statements along the lines of "I'm supporting my party's nominee" but contort themselves into pretzels to avoid naming Trump. Trump will be absolutely toxic by November. Hillary and the DNC won't hold back the way that the Republicans did.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's multiple people, but I'd say the most likely is Kirk.

I'm guessing McCain won't endorse anyone in the GE.

I thought I was joking when I said Kirk, but apparently he is the consensus favorite here. I don't understand this at all. There is no way he would want to take this gamble that almost certainly will not pay off. He has also had some pretty negative words for Trump, telling him to "shut up", and saying "Banning any race or religion, as Donald Trump has suggested, is anathema to American values and should be rejected." So idk what you guys are smoking, but if it is true, its the end of his political career.

None of them, wtf. At most you might get some of the endangered Senators saying "Right now I'm focused on working for the people of Illinois/Ohio/Wisconsin/wherever" and dodging the question when asked.
