Straight. Like I said earlier, I can recognize when a guy is good looking, but that doesn't mean I want to have sex with him

My orientation and philosophy, too.

Yeah atlas is nothing like real life lmao haha. Anways, straight like nearly everyone else in the real world.
You'd be surprised...

Nah he’s right. Atlas is far from real life.

The forum is overrepresented in terms of young people, males, socialists/tankies, moderate hero republicans, lgbt, white people (the forum is 75%+ white which is especially white for a forum that skews young), etc. Literally nothing should be used from atlas to extrapolate to your average American.

Teenagers go through phases like every generation prior to them. Boomers didn’t stay hippies forever.

Also it’s really easy to google search this stuff. You seemed to have cherry picked.  https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/research/census-lgbt-demographics-studies/how-many-people-are-lesbian-gay-bisexual-and-transgender/

Looking over all of these sources, can we at least all agree that if you gave everyone a truth serum and made them identify their sexual orientation, the percentage of non-heterosexual people would almost certainly be both higher than 3.5% and lower than 52%? It would seem to me that any survey trying to exactly determine the LGBT population of society is flawed because self-identifying is all you can do, and that's obviously not an actual reflection of anything except what the respondent is socially comfortable saying. This is especially pertinent when considering the figures which suggest that 96.5% of people are straight as an arrow.

Agreed. Although to add to this it would vary a lot depending on if we’re using the Kinsey scale vs the generic terms of bisexual/Hetero/homo/etc.

Plus you’ve got the Santander types who are only straight when intoxicated. Gotta figure out a way to classify them.

Yeah, I think you do get a bias with straight-ish people when you use the bisexual/hetero/homo options. Someone who's mostly straight, but not entirely, will probably identify as heterosexual given only three options, thinking that bisexuality refers only to a hypothetical person who is equally attracted to both men and women. On something like the Kinsey scale, they wouldn't feel so obligated to a small number of encompassing options.

I agree with this. I bet a huge majority of people who are a 1 on the Kinsey scale would call themselves straight. Wouldn't surprise me if some 2s did as well.

Cherry-picking research? Why would any poster want to push an agenda on this issue? Also, has anyone ever talked to Generation Z? They’re a lot like us, just worse.

I'm definitely a 6 on the kinsey scale.  I can only be platonically attracted to women.  This goes for trans people too.  I only find ftm transmen attractive.

I avoid interacting with teenagers as much as I can. Just like every sane well functioning adult should.

Somebody once joked that the ubiquity of sending kids to college could be partially attributed to the fact that society has no discernible use for people between the ages of roughly 17 and 23, and as much as I'd like to disagree, I really can't.

Isn’t that age range (18-23) considered to be the best for both physically bearing children and maximizing your results from strenuous physical activity (whether that’s in athletics, military, etc)?

That’s probably two worthy uses.

I know the above was meant as a joke, but I actually know some men who engage in homosexual sex only when high on meth, and not otherwise. So it is a "thing" out there.

I completely forgot about this. This is also true.
