1965: Edward Heath
1975: Edward Heath (1st ballot), William Whitelaw (2nd ballot)
1989: Anthony Meyer or Abstain
1990: Michael Heseltine (1st and 2nd Ballot)
1995: John Major (If it went to a 2nd Ballot and Major resigned, then Heseltine)
1997: Kenenth Clarke
2001: Kenneth Clarke or Michael Portillo
