Binary Sunset, and nothing is even close. The shivers that song gives me are really something else. The music just communicates that youthful yearn for something greater than yourself.

That's a great way to put it.  There may not be another instrument as majestically sad as the French horn.

Seriously, Darth Vader's theme is the only logical response.

I had the experience of listening to Darth Vader's theme as John Williams conducted the Boston Pops on the Esplanade for their 4th of July concert in 1980. Williams had just succeeded the legendary Arthur Fiedler and the crowd wasn't sure the new guy would work out for the holiday concert. That changed instantly when he struck up music from the just released Empire Strikes Back. Before long thousands were waving white shirts or cloths in time with the imperial march. It was my first summer out east and I had never seen a crowd get into a classical orchestra that way.

For me there is no other choice.

If by Qui-Gonn's theme, you mean the ominous theme that played during his funeral and Darth Vader 's rather famous bit then that's my vote.

Qui-Gon's theme, like almost every single major motif in the series, is simply fantastic, but it's pretty hilarious that they released the soundtrack before the movie came out with a spoiler in the track title that he died.

I wouldn't vote for either of these as my #1, as I agree with Southern Gothic, but I think "Han Solo and the Princess" rides a great line between ominous and romantic, and "Luke and Leia" is super, and neither was listed.  But I guess there are only so many options that you can put in one poll.

Luke's.

I'm not sure if The Imperial March is officially Darth Vader's theme. I always saw it as the general theme for the Empire as a whole.

I'd say my top three are: the Emperor's theme, the end of Episode III (particularly at the 1 minute mark when the Emperor and Darth Vader are overseeing construction of the Death Star), and the firing of Starkiller Base. If the latter two aren't actually character themes, I apologize.

Leia's theme.

I'm also fond of "Battle in the Forest" from VI. I played both as movements in a suite with a wind band... on May 4 of this year!

Somehow the Williams score has a stronger emotional impact on audiences than any other composition I've ever heard or performed.

Does the dual of the fates(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt0UuNpUqK4) count as Darth Maul theme, if so its very close to the imperial march in best theme
