That's not that far off from the +11 in the Bloomberg Purple Strategies poll.

Why are there all these national polls with huge Clinton leads and state polls with small Trump leads?

Reading some of the past releases, it seems like National Journal works a lot with these guys, and 538 gives NJ an A.

Very glad I didn't end up voting for Trump in the primaries.  Now we'll get pro-abortion SCOTUS judges thanks to him screwing up. Sad

Trump's done nothing wrong. Every Pubbie save Kasich would be down; Cruz even worse.

Come on sMilo, Trump would be up right now had it not been for his Curiel/Orlando/Saddamm Hussein comments.  And Trump is losing with all of the growing demographics (college whites, Hispanics, millenials) by worse than a usual Republican.  We could've done much better than him, and he stands a good chance of alienating voters from the GOP for years to come.  We could have a Democrat President for as long as 2024, 2028, or even 2032 thanks to his candidacy.

I like his positions, but I just can't stand him now.  Giving liberals a yuge chance of full control of government, and that means as Roe v. Wade has no chance of being overturned for a generation, thanks to his candidacy.

Now, I say let's see the GOP show some balls and dump him.  Even if it doesn't help in November, it'll help with goodwill in the future and it's exactly what Big Don deserves at this point.

I hear that State Farm has Trump down 5 and Progressive has him down 6. The General has him down 9, though.

...Maybe college-educated white people are beginning to recognize Donald Trump for the demagogue that he is.

The problem with non-college white people is that they have a hard time convincing anyone outside their group. They are not going to convince educated white people or under-educated members of any minority group. Canvassing works, but as a rule the people doing it must have some verbal power. Guess how well under-educated people do while canvassing?

Indeed, more reasons to fight the good fight!

But seriously, suggesting people who are pro-choice into 'pro-abortion"... is ugly and shows how far you've slipped.

It's pro-abortion because by allowing the practice to be performed (and fighting for fewer restrictions on it), you in effect lead to more abortions being performed.

Of course, you call Republicans racist, bigoted, evil, stupid, etc. and no one bats an eye, so I think it's perfectly fair for someone to use the language that aptly describes that position of favoring expanded legalized abortion, pro-abortion.

When did I say those things? So because some people have made broad generalisations about Republicans, you think it's OK to do the same around an extremely delicate, personal and difficult issue. You've gone way down in my estimations. I've helped a friend who had an abortion, both before and immediately after... I've seen the reality, it seems you're too busy wanting to final pedestals to climb onto.

I see you have slipped down the shoot where nuance and context doesn't actually matter. RvW isn't going anywhere, regardless of who wins in November.

Pro abortion implies that people encourage or force abortion.

Pro choice allows the woman to make the decision she prefers, whether it's motherhood, adoption, or abortion. It also doesn't judge her for her choice.

The best ways to make abortion rare are

(1) to create a culture that in fact cherishes children
(2) to make objective sex education available
(3) to create opportunity for all, and not only for entrenched elites

...Senate Republicans may have fouled up badly by refusing to hear the President's nominee for the US Supreme Court. If the nominee had been unqualified, corrupt, incompetent, or extreme then the Senate could have exercised its power to advise and consent. It has instead played power politics and may have doomed itself to defeat in a wave election.

The GOP Establishment also messed up by failing to offer anything more than an economy that works for elites alone. It typically offered a cultural agenda hostile to liberal values in return for economic hardships. But that works badly outside Born-Again America.
