A game of Atlas Diplomacy on the US map? Proposed rules:

-There will be 6 players
-To win, a player must be in control of 14 supply centers (there are 27 total)
-Alaska and Hawai'i are only accessible by sea.
-You can build fleets in any area bordering an ocean, Canada, or Mexico (including MN, WI, MI, OH, and PA)

-I will receive orders via PM every 2 or 3 days at a fixed time.

The countries: (Note: (sc) designates supply center)

New Englandia (Leinad)
Massachusetts (sc)
Maine (sc)
Connecticut (sc)
Rhode Island
New Hampshire

Mid-Atlantica (NeverAgain)
Virginia (sc)
Pennsylvania (sc)
Maryland (sc)
New Jersey
Delaware

Southeast Republic (PiT)
Florida (sc)
Georgia (sc)
Mississippi (sc)
South Carolina
Alabama

Rustbeltland (Peebs)
Michigan (sc)
Illinois (sc)
Minnesota (sc)
Indiana
Wisconsin

Empire of Texas (LLR)
Colorado (sc)
Texas (sc)
Arizona (sc)
Oklahoma
New Mexico

Cascadia (Dereich)
Washington (sc)
Montana (sc)
Oregon (sc)
Idaho
Alaska

If you don't know how to play diplomacy, that's fine, just tell me and I'll give you the basic rules.

If anything's unclear, or you have any comments, tell me. (I want to make sure this is balanced)

Things I have to do:

-designate sea zones

Lastly, I claim The Empire of Texas

Wait.  Need a better map.  Can you please delineate the sea provinces?  The Gulf of Mexico, Chesapeake Bay, and Great Lakes are of particular strategic importance

Also, which of the beginning units are fleets vs. armies?

I'd make a better map, but I don't have Photoshop/MS Paint Cry. I'll think about sea zones, not quite sure yet.

as to fleets/armies:

fleets are in ME, VA, FL, AZ, OR, WA, and MI

Awesomeness. I think a fun idea would be to do this with different maps, including the original Europe in the early 1900s map.

Either way, count me 100% in. I'd like to be New Englandia.

Or, just in case we go with the original instead, I'll be Russia (I enjoy the multi-front aspect of Russia).

Also, considering how Diplomacy often goes, we should clarify beforehand that this is a "no hard feelings" game. Tongue

Alright, here's the complete map, with sea zones, drawn terribly.

Please note that for New York there are North and South coasts. To clarify some things:

MA borders both sea zones it's near. DE borders thee New Jersey-area sea zone and Maryland borders the "Chesapeake" zone.

Signups are, of course, still open! Thanks!

There's a sea connection between Arizona and Hawaii?

Yes, otherwise it's too hard for Texas, who are bad enough as it is, to get any neutral supply centers.

Cool, Diplomacy. Sign me up for the Southeast Republic. I must say, that's a claustrophobic map.

The map you posted just says "no direct linking." Could you post it with something that doesn't do that?

Question: what are the rules regarding the four corners states? For example, could I move from Utah to New Mexico or vice versa? (Same with Arizona and Colorado.)

I've thought about it, and - executive order - you're not allowed.

TURN 1: Rules and Stuff

For turn 1 (Spring 2001), all orders are due at 8 PM EST on Sunday, July 24th. You will PM them to me. Late orders will be tolerated, I'm a nice guy Smiley. If you can't make it, either tell me and we can work something out, or send them early. I promise I won't look.

You may use this board to post public information and ask questions and PM for other communication purposes (I honestly don't care how y'all communicate.)

The map has been posted in two places, you can find it easily I trust.

Another overview of troops:

Unless someone signs up by morning, this turn will be processed and all of cascadia's troops will hold.
