I just returned from a week in Costa Rica. Flew from Houston IAH to Liberia in Guanacaste Province. The Flight with United was nice and direct but dear God the in flight entertainment was awful. We had 1 episode of Cash Cab on repeat and for 7 dollar we could purchase Direct TV channels that were only in range for the first 30 minutes of the flight.

Nowhere this year, in 2015 I flew on a plane going from Nashville to Cancun and from Cancun back to Nashville, but that's it for my whole life.

In Jan I flew ORD-SNA and back. Early this month I went SPI-DFW-DEN and returned the same way. Now I'm in the midst of my flights to see HI, sitting by Kapalua Beach as I write this. I got here by ORD-SEA-SFO-KOA. Then KOA-OGG to get to Maui ( I got to JHM not to fly but to star gaze). Here's the island itinerary thread and relies.

I'll be there 4 weeks from today, so I'll let you know if I agree with your sentiment.
Wow, that's off the beaten path. It's literally connected to the rest of the island by a mule path. You might be the first forum member to ever visit there.

I was there about a year ago. You also can hike the trail, and there’s even an airport with scheduled passenger service.

I have reservations to fly in to Molokai in the early morning, hike the trail down, take the tour, then fly out. I've seen the flight from Kaluapapa to Kaunakakai on Molokai described as the shortest scheduled passenger flight - it's only 9 miles by air. From the main Molokai airport I'll fly back to Maui that same afternoon.

I'll be making these flights, starting on the Big Island and moving west over two weeks. I wouldn't miss the chance to see all 5 counties in HI, even Kalawao.

Wow, you'll have been to nearly as many Hawai'i airports I have by the time your trip is done! (I haven't flown Kaluapapa (I took the mule option) but I have flown Kapalua on west Maui and Hilo on the Big Island.

You're especially going to love MKK, I think; there's no security at all, and the airlines are more like bus routes in their approach to filling seats and accommodating walk-ups.

Though I'm staying just minutes from Kapalua airport, and there are plenty of flights from there to HNL, the cost of returning the car there instead of at OGG made it cost ineffective.

San Francisco (SFO) - College Station (CLL) via Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) [too time consumed for anything else by the time I booked that one]

American is finally landing in Oakland from Dallas, so the return may look similar, or I may make the trip down to the Southwestport in Houston known as Hobby.

Perth to Darwin to Perth

Perth to Pilbara to Perth.

Enduring the most brutal heatwave at both locales.

Here is the map of the jaunt to Samoa. To there, Albany to Midway Airport in Chicago, then to Las Vegas, then to John Wayne airport in Orange County, CA. And then the next day a drive to LAX in Los Angeles, to Fiji, and then Samoa. Return is back through Fiji, to LAX, then Denver, and then Albany. With layovers, each way took about 24 hours, plus the hour's drive from Hudson to the Albany Airport each way. Ugh!

Wow, Torie, that's a serious journey. All of that was on one ticket, or did you have to get some segments separately? The SNA-LAX transfer sounds like the worst part. Tongue

Confirmed for Dallas/Love

So that makes:

1. San Francisco - College Station (via Dallas/Fort Worth)
2. Dallas/Love - Oakland

Since the lease is going belly-up soon, forcing my return for a quick tosser....

Add: Oakland- Houston/Hobby...followed by a return out of Dallas/Love.
