Building a Confident America: McMorris Leadership Campaign

January 13th:
Washington DC:
Morning: Announcement Speech, followed by a Press Conference.
Afternoon: Setting up Campaign National Headquarters in DC.
-Campaign Strategy Session.
-Unveiling of the Campaign Website.
Night: Fundraising dinner.

January 14th:
Virginia:
Morning: Breakfast with volunteers and staff on HQ, then travel to Virginia.
Afternoon: Brief visits to Richmond and Chesapeake, hold two small rallies.
Night: Rally + Policy Speech on Virginia Beach on Economy and the Middle Class.

Excerpt: "It is easy to repeat economic talking points. What is not easy is to fully understand their application in practical terms, on how they affect each family and each individual personally away from the realm of statistics. Having grown up on a farm, I am no stranger to hard work. Like many Americans, I worked with my family to help as best as I could. Like many Americans, I was the first of my family to graduate from Congress, and like many I worked hard as a student to pay my bills, in my case by working at a McDonalds. As you can see, I'm an unlikely politician through and through, and I never forget the essential fact that when we discuss policy we also need to consider how this affects not just numbers, but people. And the Conservative economic agenda is geared towards that."

January 15th:
New York:
Morning: Fly to New York City, hold a fundraising lunch.
Afternoon: Meet and Greet session in Long Beach.
Night: Rally + Policy Speech on New York City on Women and Conservatism.

Excerpt: "This party has a proud tradition of brilliant Conservative women, tradition that is kept alive by thousands working to make a better America on this party. From people I grew admiring like Margaret Chase Smith, to current leaders like Kristi Noem, or Elise Stefanik, or Kay Bailey Hutchinson, there is a legacy to follow and stand for. The Conservative philosophy believes in empowering individuals and their freedom rather than expanding government, all in the belief that you can make better decisions for yourself rather than the federal government making those decisions. After all, models to follow and roles to have are endless. Why would now be the wrong time to have a change in Government with policy, with approach, and with a female Prime Minister to lead such necessary reform?"

January 16th:
New Hampshire:
Morning: Opening of NH HQ in Manchester, building infrastructure.
Afternoon: Tour of the New Hampshire 1st District, first two town halls.
Night: Rally + Speech in Concord on Tax Agenda.

January 17th:
Illinois:
Morning: Travel to Illinois.
Afternoon: Tour of constituencies in Southern Illinois.
Night: Rally in Chicago.

January 18th:
Iowa:
Morning: Opening of IA HQ in Des Moines, building infrastructure.
Afternoon: Meet and Greet in Des Moines, then Rally.
Night: Interview with Local Iowa Media, rest.

January 19th:
Washington:
Morning: Fly to Spokane, hold fundraising lunch.
Afternoon: Visit to local office, Rally + Speech on Active Foreign Policy
Night: Rest.

Two questions about endorsements off the top of my head:

1) Are MPs the only endorsements we can receive, or can we receive other endorsements like from former politicians, newspapers, celebrities, etc.?

1) Are cross-party endorsements possible if they are ideologically similar?

You can ask for the endorsement of anyone, including current and former Members of Parliament, public figures, or media/political organizations. Cross-party endorsements are possible if your candidate is a particularly good fit, but they're unlikely as a whole and probably won't be considered until the late stages of the primary season or start of the general election campaign.

[1] I take it Ryan would have declined to seek reelection as Leader on this scenario. I can see him doing that in real life, so...

Ryan, like Boehner, decided not to seek a second term as leader of the Conservative Party after seeing the unpopularity of the coalition government within his own party. During the speech announcing his retirement, he claimed that "family commitment" was his main reason for leaving leadership, though many believe that his decision was mostly political.

Could you give out the early state polling numbers for the Nationalists?

National and state polls will be released at the beginning of Turn 2. I don't really have much to base polling numbers off of right now considering the game just began.

Just for the record, guys, my schedule basically prevents me from answering any questions up until about 4:30 PM every day on weekdays. I tried to answer some questions this morning, but I doubt I'll be able to do so this early any more up until when my schedule frees up next Thursday.

Schweitzer for PM

"Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the great state of Montana. Who here likes President Obama? *sporadic cheers* Who here wishes Hillary Clinton and Lord John Kerry would take a minute to fight for the common man... The common Montanan, if you will? *loud applause* Who here would like to see a Prime Minister who combines Obama's policies with care and devotion to the ills of the common man, the common farmer, the common mother of four? *mega-loud applause* Who here would support Brian Schweitzer for Prime Minister!? *hooting, applause*

"Now, I'm running because the Liberal Party has ignored the farmers and westerners for too long. People have attacked me for being too centrist or behind the times - but I listen to my people! There's a reason I've been re-elected as At-Large MP in a conservative state! I know what it is to be poor, to need help, and to see yourself passed over by the government. We will not stand for this any longer! As Prime Minister I will see that the government lowers taxes on the middle class and brings farming back to a higher spot in our economy! I will fight for you! Thank you all, and please vote for Schweitzer in your primaries!"

-Campaign in Northern Iowa
-Hold a rally in Sioux City

January 14

-Barnstorm in Lincoln
-Barnstorm in East Colorado
-Rally in Denver
"I don't do what's politically convenient, I do what's right!"

Rand Paul Launches Independence Leadership Bid

Rand Paul, Kentucky's At-Large MP, today announced his campaign to seek the leadership of the Independence Party. Rand Paul has been an MP since his election in 2010 and has quickly risen up through the ranks of the party, to the point that he now serves as its Deputy Leader.

At his announcement speech, Paul acknowledged that there were divisions among America's newest party, but declared he was the candidate to bring the party together:

Asked by a journalist why he thought he was the unity candidate, his response was:

The most notable chapter in Rand Paul's career is his 12 hour filibuster in the House of Commons on the Obama Ministry's drone policy. He is also a minor star on the internet. A video of him chainsawing the current U.S. tax code at a BBQ in Detroit went viral on YouTube, and his put-down of a New Jersey political official on marijuana policy earned him praise among many across the political spectrum and in liberal media.

Todd Young for Conservative Leader

Indianapolis, IN

My fellow Conservatives, my fellow Americans. I'm proud to announce my candidacy for the leadership of the Conservative Party.
During my years in the House of Commons, I had the occasion of knowing well Paul Ryan, our current Leader and Deputy Prime Minister. He's a good and nice guy, he has great skills and he's a capable MP who cares about the needs of Americans, but we have to change our political course.
For the last four years, the Conservative Party took part in a coalition government with the Liberals, and that fact has alienated our base.
With me as leader of the Conservatives, our objective will be going back to be the first party in the country and to govern as Conservatives. We are going to implement our platform and in order to do that, if our party will not have a majority in the House of Commons, we'll look to other parties that shares our values and that are ideologically close to our party for instituing a government that will work for all Americans.
When we'll go back to the head of government, we'll implement our conservative policy. This means that we'll improve our education system and will put our children and grand children in the best position to succeed in life. We'll stand with our medium and small business and will remove all obstacles that prevent them from creating jobs. We'll push for an health care reform that keeps health care decisions between the citizen and the doctor, not the federal government. We'll reform the current tax code with a simpler system, we'll cut taxes, so that Americans will be rewarded for their working hard. We'll reduce federal government spendings and balance budgets. We'll protect the right to life.
As a former Marine Corps intelligence officer, I take the national defense issue seriously and we'll push for increasing our national defense and make our country more safe.
My fellow Conservatives, I humbly ask for your support, so that we can turn our party and our country back in the right direction.

Schedule to be posted in this post soon.

LORD KERRYS REBUTTAL

Reporter: Lord Kerry, today, Brian Schweitzer said some things insulting Prime Minister Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and you. You three have always been Political allies. Any comments?

Kerry: Well, give me what he said about us.

Reporter: He said you would not fight for the common man, or Montanan,

Kerry: I will fight for not just the common man improving our treatment of minorities, and improving defense budget to improve the country. Now for the Montanans, I don't know what you mean by that. I treat all U.S. Citizens, or even people from around the globe the same, depending on race, ethnicity, country, state, town, city, income, property, etc. Next subject

Reporter: He said most Liberals don't pay attention to farmers and westerners

Kerry: First off, he should not insult his own party, I even offered the Liberal candidates to dinner on the 19th. Anyway, We do, and if I become leader of our party and Prime Minister I will subsidize farmers and I will pay more attention to Westerners.

Reporter: Thank you, Lord Kerry.

CARTE GOODWIN: THE SUN IS RISING

There are many reasons that I am running to be your representative. However, first and foremost, the reason I am running is because I do not believe in the status quo's negativity. I believe that now is our time. My message of optimism is this: The sun is rising in America today. As your state Justice Minister, elected twice to that position in 2008 and 2012, I never gave up fighting for progress and thus the optimism I now have.

During my short months as your representative, appointed by the State Premier to Rockefeller's old seat when he resigned in 2014, I realized something: America has not gotten better during this government's tenure. I remain optimistic because I know that our party will do better. When we either enter a coalition government or play a powerful role as deciding voters in Parliament, we will make sure that the sun will rise in America again.

The truth of the matter is this: America cannot afford four more years without a strengthened Jacksonian Party. I promise you, my constituents, and all Americans that if you give us a chance at being powerful, you will not be disappointed. I call on everyone who is willing to vote for the Jacksonian Party. Join us in these upcoming elections to take our country back!

It sounds like Puerto Rico, American Samoa, etc. don't have any delegates in this game. Did the US not annex these territories in this timeline?

The territories exist as they do in real life, but they do not have any delegate representation in the leadership elections. Of course, not being represented makes the territories pretty angry, but you have to remember that they can't even vote in general elections in the real world.

Musk for America 1.2 - Announcement Speech

Elon Musk gives his announcement speech at UCLA

Hello, thank you for coming here. As you've probably heard, I've filed to run for Parliament representing California's 33rd district. And the rumors are true--I am also running for the Leadership of the Independence Party!

America is the greatest country in the world. Why? Because we're founded on individual rights, innovation, and independence. People can do what they want, think what they want, and build a better future for everyone. In 1995, as immigrants, me and my brother started a company called Zip2 with $28,000. Four years later we sold it for $307 million. The rest of the story many of you know--PayPal, Tesla, SpaceX, SolarCity, OpenAI, et cetera--but this isn't about what I've done, this is about what we can do.

America is the greatest country in the world--but we can't rest on our laurels. A great country is one that continually strives to improve and solve problems, instead of getting complacent and coasting on past success. I'm running because Parliament has consistently proven to be incapable, inefficient, or just unwilling when it comes to solving our problems.

The problems of our country our things we must come together and solve, not political footballs to toss around and score points off of. The out of control national debt, climate change, the incarceration rate, the cycle of endless war, the broken immigration system, racial tension and hatred among groups of people, an inefficient education system that keeps children from learning to their full potential--these are problems we can't keep ignoring or finding excuses for.

I have great respect for Rand Paul, Rob Portman, and Bill Weld. These are great public servants who have helped America, but why should we trust a career politician or Washington insider to bring us out of this mess, when it's career politicians and Washington insiders who have failed us? I am the only candidate running for the Independence Party leadership who has been successful at a large scale in the private sector. I know how the private sector works, I know how technology works, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities we are presented with in the internet age.

It's time America has fresh leadership, and with your help, it will be time America has Independence! Thank you!

#TogetherwithTulsi
Aloha,
My fellow Americans, it is with great pleasure that I announce that I will be seeking the Leadership of the Progressive Party. We have seen the traditional Political establishment join hands in an attempt to keep control out of the hands of the people. We must change that. I believe that we in Hawai'i in America want to see want to see an end to the duopoly and fight against threats from the right. We need to work on reforming our government and making America working for everyone. It is with great pleasure that I will be campaigning to help this a reality. Together we will fight for America.
