Clyde says he will not be swearing in since he won election to the House.
Yeah. I'm basically waiting for confirmation about what happens to my seat - as I believe there is a law (correctly) preventing double jobbing. Even if there isn't, I won't take the seat - as there were other people in the election and I don't want to prevent anyone from holding a seat. I'm not sure if it goes to the next candidate who would've been elected or whether a special election will have to take place, which is what needs to be confirmed.

There will be a special election to choose your replacement. The next session of Congress doesn't begin until September 2, though, so until then you are a lawfully-seated member of the Assembly.
Thank you. Smiley

I've just sworn in. Hopefully we can get the SOAP done before I need to resign to enable the next delegate to get to work quickly after the election.

I think Clyde is probably the most qualified person to be Speaker, then LLR.
I'll be happy to take on the role if no-one else wants to do it.

I'm willing to take the job, given that you've gotta leave next week.
I'll support you in becoming Speaker then. Smiley

Is this where I'd appoint the Lt. Governor?

Thanks! But does this mean I can't be speaker?
In the SOAP that we're debating, it says that the positions can't be held by the same person - although we could change it, before it's passed, to make the Lt Governor the Speaker, I guess.

Well if Speaker/Lt. Gov is separate, can I appoint a representative to be the Lt. Gov or a private citizen?
It has to be an Assembly member:
