I think to many of us, the situation would be irrelevant. Most of us would be dead, in prison, banish'ed, or hiding in the woods.

That said, it would be interesting to see what would happen Trump not only wins but is in various degrees successful (whether he loses congress but his party manages a hat trick like Q managed to do). The first thing we would do is blame Hillary for being too generic, centrist, statist, and "fatigued".

After that, do Democrats double down via 2008 or 2012 or just try to win again via 2006 or 1992?

Trump can't do that, even if he wanted to & no matter how much he'd want to. Not only is the American presidency an office of powers that are maddeningly constrained for anyone with dictatorial aspirations, but our Constitution is also a lot harder to amend than that of the Weimar Republic. Plus, Trump in no way has the ability to get the required approval of 38 states he'd need to amend the Constitution.

Not to mention, the Europe of the late 1920s & early 1930s bears little resemblance to the United States of the 2010s.

He would face what Ferdinand Marcos faced as he tried to hold onto power -- the military turning against him.

As it is, no President has had a stormier relationship with the military and the intelligence services than has Trump.
