I second the motion to retain North Carolina Yankee (Fed) as our Speaker for this term.
There was a motion in the first place?

I'll second it anyway.

[X] North Carolina Yankee

Bump, 23 hours left. Want to get 3 more official votes by tomorrow afternoon.

I think two people that nominated Yankee actually thought they were voting for them, as evidenced by the format of their posts. They may need to be PMed.

Most every instance when a vote is started the instruction will say "vote is now open" yet for years people seem to still manage to cast votes where they are not occuring (the opposite extreme of not voting when they are open). My earnest recommendation to all new and current house members is to read instructions carefully.
Here is my redo of the vote. Please disregard my previous vote that was cast before the vote was declared.

It's funny how SevenEleven called being Speaker "bitch work", but is getting elected to it now. This is somebody who never took up responsibility while being deputy speaker. I don't get why Labor is replacing such a qualified speaker who never even thought about abusing his power. Very typical of Labor!

What? Lmao. I ran the House very well when in charge. Didn't have to do much when deputy speaker, sure, but this isn't an election for deputy speaker.
