I've felt that Trump could win this but hoped that 1) he alienated too many white people and 2) minority turnout would spike enough to beat back any surge in turnout among "non-college whites". I think the white vote is now receding back to what it used to be and Trump may do better than than Romney did.

I still feel, however, that Clinton is ahead. Not by alot, but she is ahead. Plus I think this is one of her lowest points and the debates could potentially turn this thing around for her if she does it right (aka no sighing, no DINGLE NORWOOD BILL, ect.)

So... definitely nervous, but not completely hopeless yet.

Less confident than a month ago, but still think Clinton has advantage. The Senate I'm no longer so sure about

Trump has some momentum and the race has tightened. But I'm still confident in Clinton winning.

This is a test for Democrats. They either have the spine and balls to fight, or they run away crying because things aren't as easy any more.

Dang, Trump has a good couple of weeks and his supporters are already getting ready for his inauguration. You guys are going to be very disappointed in the coming weeks.

I think there will be an increase of ticket-splitting after years of decline.  The best thing about this campaign is that it may produce a lessening of chronic hyper-partisanship.  It's not out of the range of possibility that you could have a President Trump and a Democratic Senate.

I guess the majority may want to live in the third world country the republicans wish for our future.

My honest opinion is, how can there be so many -- to be kind -- "citizens" voting for an obvious cretin who knows nothing about politics, who has fraud trials coming up, who knows nothing about empathy, who trashes everyone under the sun, who causes controversies wherever he goes...and so much more?

There is just no way that Hillary is as bad as that. But there is a way that there are probably a lot of sexists out there who would never vote for a female. And there are a lot of bigots and racists who understand Trump's language....

Yet, I am still perplexed at Trump's appeal.

However, I still believe that saner minds will prevail and Hillary will win this thing. You can't judge this race by daily ups and downs.

At this point I think the media is aiming to get Trump elected so they can have four years of increased ratings--at the expense of everyone else. And at this point, they're looking increasingly like they're going to succeed.

I'm hopeful that this is Trump's high water mark, and that the numbers will move in Hillary's favor again by or after the first debate.

A solid majority of the American people agreed with Hillary Clinton from her Alt-Right speech a few weeks back that Donald Trump is a bigot and racist, and that a significant portion of his support comes from white supremacists.

The fact that this race still got this close after that speech says a lot about us.   And none of it is flattering.

I hope you are wrong. This isn't a game. Everyone needs to look at the bigger picture. Getting Trump in there just because some people are greedy would be a travesty. The world deserves better than that. At least, if you don't like Hillary, she does know about politics and she knows about world relations, and she is steady at the helm, been through the fire and back and she never backs down or quits. She has what it takes to lead this country.

Opt. 1

At this point, I'm bracing for the worst, and ready for Schumer to obstruct the hell out of trump's "agenda" and get him as far down as poor Jimmeh was. What is this election but a party flip from 1976 anyway?

Ideally, an actual and savvier leftist, [maybe even "socialist"] [Obama was just Nixon flipped, too busy being a centrist co-opting conservatism and making the GOP mad and backtracking to count] will come in 2020, play similar tactics instead of  trying to "be above it all" and come out making 2020 an inverted 1980.

Worried that Clinton will still, somehow, manage to lose this. Checked that my passport is current. Called up my relatives in Canada, and let them know I'd be a lot less picky about job opportunities north of the border.
