Good to see high support for immigration, especially in this age. Smiley

Legalisation of Uber AFAIK is positive for employment, so even if some taxi jobs are lost, this would be compensated with Uber jobs. Also it's good for the consumer. The government shouldn't cave in to rentseekers.

What are the chances that Portugal also has a far-right party break through? I think everything is possible, especially after elections in neighbouring Spain (Andalusia), where Vox did above all expectations, and Andalusia is not exactly a favourable region for the far-right!

Adding to this, André Ventura, it seems, will hold meetings with Vox and Liga party members in the next few weeks.

These two names seem oddly familiar... 🤔

He has to gain some support somewhere... even if it is outside Portugal.

I thought you meant that the parties with these names exist in Portugal, especially because you misspelled "Lega"? Thanks for clarification.

Why the PSD keeps "PPD" (abbreviation of their former name) in their official abbreviation?

Another funny moment was when the PPM leader showed his manifesto and in the cover the year 2015 was crossed out, and below it, and handwritten, was the year 2019. Social media is having a lot of fun:

Did he say "At least our policies are consistent" or something similar?

Angola was a Portuguese colony.

Somebody said RIR may win a seat in Porto? IL overtook it - they are at 1,49%, while RIR is at 1,16%. I think neither of them will win a seat in Porto.

I'm back. Well, what an election.

PSD has a result that, IMO, is not that bad. PS, has a result bellow expectations. CDS, what a disaster. The smaller parties, well, what a surprise.

Consolidation of right-leaning voters behind PSD?

Livre overtook Chega in Lisbon. All other electoral districts are counted, just 2 in Lisbon and 3 in Setubal left.

and in many countries, mail services are failing to send ballots to Portugal, the most shocking example seems to be Venezuela.

I'm not surprised at all. As there is a shortage of paper in Venezuela (due to mismanagement of the economy), they are probably recycling the ballots instead of sending them to Portugal.

Also there is PAN, which grew from just one seat in 2015 to a MEP and a few more MP seats in 2019.

André Ventura (CHEGA) met with Rui Rio (PSD) to talk about possible agreements in economic/fiscal policies:

André Ventura, CHEGA MP, had a meeting with PSD leader Rui Rio to talk about the 2020 budget and possible agreements between CHEGA and PSD on fiscal/economic issues. Ventura, in a statement to the press, said that Rio made clear the different ideological position of both CHEGA and PSD, but that he left the meeting with the view that the PSD leader is open to discuss and propose common policies in economic matters.
Is this a move to appease the right-wing faction of PSD before the internal elections?
