Would have been a waste of time and money. No Democrat would have gotten more than 50% running against Isakson. If this was an open seat though...

Barksdale was not the guy to get it done - quite a few Democrats donated to Isakson this time and a few even endorsed him.

Yeah, it'd be far more competitive, but the 50% threshold is so difficult for a Democrat to cross.
