Kaine is trying to replicate Biden's 2012 strategy. Not working out.

We're fathers and husbands and brothers. It's a family unit. We just don't buy the home and paint the rooms for the women, we are protectors as well. That's why.
Does your wife decide if you get a vasectomy or not?

She should have input, yes. The final decision is between the man and the doctor but that is a decision that would affect her, so she should have substantial input. The same principle should apply to abortion -- the father should have substantial input because he will be strongly affected by the outcome of the decision. Ultimately it's up to the doctor and the mother, but that decision should be founded on the input of all people involved.
