My prediction is that the 2020 Republican primary will be a Cruz-Cotton affair.
To believe that the people who nominated Trump and voted for Cruz and Carson will make a U-turn in 4 years and get behind an establishment choice like Kasich, Baker or Rubio is delusional.

Looking at other goo primaries outside of president it seems that's more wishful thinking on your part
