I'd be ecstatic if the "right" of the GOP looked a lot more like Bob Taft and a lot less like Jeff Sessions, but only if it's more like Taft on economic policy (no, being a protectionist in pre-WWII America is nowhere near comparable to being one today), too.  I'll be content to be a hawk in the moderate wing in either scenario.

Because there's absolutely nothing redeemable about the latter, racist asshole, while Taft was a great statesman who fought for civil rights?
