Since the Republicans are at a disadvantage to begin with in the electoral college, I believe that states that are beginning to become more favorable to the Democrats such as NV, CO, VA, NC should be ceded to them. The GOP should invest heavily in the Midwest and Rust Belt states as well as the West and NE. The party should try to nominate a socially moderate fiscally conservative candidate who can appeal to voters in these areas. Since there is a search for electoral votes and with the Democrats gaining territory, the Republicans have to look elsewhere.

The converse to this is that the country is getting older so there is an audience to the reaxtion to this. Then again, it may eventually be democractic groups who outlive GOP groups if you believe the trends in LE.
