Monmouth has found rather favorable numbers for Republican Senate candidates this entire cycle. I'd say this race is still lean D, but perhaps the tightening of the presidential race could make it closer.

This is no surprise. Bayh will continue to fall. He's done. The Dems will need to find their Senate majority elsewhere.

That's right, Indiana. Young is the objectively better choice.

This is probably a bit R friendly, but this race will be close. I think Bayh pulls out a win, though.

Guys relax,

I think Bayh has the advantage still. Like David said, Monmouth has been producing favorable Republican results this cycle for Senate. We need a couple more polls to confirm if this is actually a dead heat.

Keep in mind that Bayh does not even trail  in this poll, he simply ties.

Bayh is the odds on favorite, even if it is by a narrow margin.

People are just over reacting to every single poll after the "email scandal". Let's just all relax.

Monmouth isn't a Republican-friendly pollster, but keep telling yourselves that. They had Bayh up 6 and 7 the last time, when other pollsters showed it closer.

I just do not understand why everyone is freaking out. People need to relax. Bayh is not even trailing in this poll.

Monmouth seems like a solid pollster.

I did say this poll (Trump up 11 in Indiana sounds like a bit much), not this pollster.

Still rooting for Republican Senate candidates (except for high-energy CHARLES E. SCHUMER in the beautiful state of NY!) despite soon being a Dutch Labour member Wink

I'm a big Schumer fan too, but then i liked Lieberman as well. Both those guys are generally hated on the forum, but then it will not be the first time that Forumites are generally wrong. Smiley

Voting for Monasch Wink?

Anyway, great news. I like Bayh but the Republicans keep the senate, so I hope Young wins. Bayh still has the advantage though, but it's not the safe D race I thought it was when Bayh entered.

Yep! Will cancel my membership immediately afterwards though.

Also agree with the rest of your post (except that I don't think Republicans will keep the Senate, but I certainly hope they will...).

I agree with this as well. Most polls show a closer presidential race with a sizable Bayh lead. This specific poll does seem to be R-friendly.

Absolutely incredible. Todd Young and the IN GOP deserve an award, no a BAYHillion award (sorry that was a terrible pun)

This poll showed Bayh + 6 before,  I don't see how anyone could possibly call it "R-Friendly"
